SEO performance report.
Organic search, structured monthly and year-over-year — with the honest story behind the numbers.
Quick Summary
- Clicks fell 17.1% to 4.93k and impressions 17.5% to 476k, the second straight post-Independence Day drop, matching the pattern after Easter and Workers' Day.
- AI engagement hit 66.13%, our highest ever (it started the year at 38.58%), even as volume dropped to 62. Fewer but far more qualified visitors, in line with the industry-wide trend of newer AI models citing fewer sources per response.
- Because AI tools are citing fewer sources than they used to, we want to focus on being mentioned more, not just used as a source, so we keep our AI visibility high.
- Blog demo contributor variety is the widest it has been, and AI tools are now surfacing Our Work, Why PerkUp, and Custom sourcing as top pages.
- Backlinks had their best editorial cycle in the run: 1,334 referring domains and five real dofollow wins, three of them DR 67+.
- Next steps: Expect numbers to stabilize over the next cycle or two · Add strong demo CTAs to the Why PerkUp and Custom sourcing pages, since AI is now driving traffic to them.
Where we are now
Monthly organic clicks
Average Google Search Console clicks per 2-week report, grouped by year, most recent first. Dec 2025 holiday peak highlighted; the 2026 baseline has climbed from a ~3.8k floor into the 6–7k range, with July averaging ~5.4k as the Independence Day spike fully washed out.

What actually converts
From the latest periods, the pages driving demo requests (not just traffic) are consistently bottom-of-funnel:
| Surface | Top demo-driving pages | Top traffic (rarely converts) |
|---|---|---|
| Blogs | Loop & Tie review, top swag-management platforms, 30-year work-anniversary ideas, Costco benefits, Google new-hire-kit, and the wider NHK/competitor-review set | Welcome-back messages, work-anniversary funny quotes, welcome memes, Costco benefits, funny welcome messages |
| Feature pages | On Demand swag, Countries, Employee recognition, Bulk swag, Gift cards | Swag store, Employee recognition, Work anniversaries, Gift cards, On Demand swag |
| AI-referred | Pricing, Google NHK, Gift cards, Costco benefits, 30-year work-anniversary ideas | Our Work, Why PerkUp, Owala designs, Custom sourcing, blog landing page |
Two facts the team keeps confirming: company-benefits blogs (FedEx, Tesla, Netflix) pull big traffic from job-seekers who never buy, while comparison / “alternatives” / company-specific new-hire content reliably produces demos. The content pipeline is shifting toward the latter.
Open item from the Jul 20–Aug 2 cycle: clicks should stabilize over the next cycle or two as the seasonal traffic fully washes out; settling around 4.5–5k would still sit above April’s 3.39k floor. AI volume hit a low of 62, but the record 66% engagement says the visitors who do come are higher intent, so the action is CTAs: make sure Why PerkUp and Custom sourcing have strong demo CTAs now that AI is driving traffic to them.
AI-assistant referral traffic
A newer signal in the same report: sessions arriving from AI assistants (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot). Volume is small but more qualified, and the engagement rate runs high.
| Period | AI sessions | Engagement | Split |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aug 2026 (Jul 20–Aug 2) | 62 | 66% | ChatGPT 87%, Gemini 11%, Perplexity 2% |
| Jul 2026 (Jul 6–19) | 107 | 34% | ChatGPT 82%, Gemini 14%, Copilot 2%, Perplexity 2% |
| Jul 2026 (Jun 22–Jul 5) | 71 | 38% | ChatGPT 81%, Gemini 14%, Perplexity 3% |
| Jun 2026 (Jun 8–21) | 78 | 42% | ChatGPT 51%, Gemini 32%, Perplexity 17% |
| Jun 2026 (May 25–Jun 7) | 85 | 39% | ChatGPT 69%, Gemini 20%, Perplexity 5% |
| Apr 2026 | 124 | 52% | ChatGPT 49%, Gemini 28%, Claude 12% |
| Nov 2025 (peak) | 281 | 44% | ChatGPT 75%, Perplexity 19% |
Volume fell back to 62 sessions, our lowest, but the engagement rate hit a record 66% (it started the year at 38.58%). AI is sending fewer but far more qualified visitors. ChatGPT still dominates at 87%, with Gemini at 11% and Perplexity barely registering, which tracks with the ChatGPT slide on the AI visibility dashboard.
How to read this
- Watch clicks AND impressions together. When clicks fall but impressions hold, that is zero-click / AI Overviews, not lost rankings — a conversion problem, not a visibility one.
- Seasonality is real. Holiday content (Christmas, Easter, Labor Day / Intl Workers’ Day, Diwali, Thanksgiving, EAD) reliably spikes traffic. The Dec ’25 peak (10.7k) was the Christmas-messages blog; publish seasonal updates ahead of time.
- Traffic ≠ pipeline. The biggest blogs (memes, quotes, benefits) convert near zero. Weight bottom-of-funnel pages when judging SEO’s contribution.
- The strategic response is GEO. As classic search clicks compress, AI-answer visibility is where the team is investing — see AI visibility (GEO) and SEO strategy.
